February 2012

Greetings!

Welcome to our February 2012 Newsletter, we are pleased to provide you with this update on recent news for Power+Energy.

P+E is off to a record start in 2012 based on the order book from the last quarter of 2011. Beginning with these first quarter shipments, P+E purifier cells will feature the ASME U-Stamp signifying that the pressure vessel has been designed, constructed and inspected in accordance with standards set by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

We have included links below to our newest product data sheets and we are in the process of updating each of our product lines to offer greater reliability, functionality and value to our customers. There is also a link below to a feature article which was recently published in Compound Semiconductor Magazine entitled "Setting a New Benchmark for Hydrogen Delivery".

Thank you for your continued support and interest in Power+Energy.

Record Shipments for 1st Quarter 2012

Power+Energy booked record orders in the final quarter of 2011 for delivery in the first quarter of 2012.  P+E will deliver multiple units of its PE9000MZ series and multiple units of its PE9000MS series purifiers to customers in the US, Taiwan, Japan and China.  The purifiers will be used to deliver high flow rates of ultra-pure hydrogen for a range of applications including LED fabrication, silicon carbide wafer production, silicon carbide power device fabrication and flat panel display manufacturing.

P+E New Feature Article in Compound Semiconductor

"Setting a New Benchmark for Hydrogen Delivery" by Stuart Bestrom

A feature article, written by P+E's Director of Global Sales, Stuart Bestrom, has been published in the January/February issue of Compound Semiconductor.  The article describes how P+E's novel micro-channel Pd membrane technology is able to address the challenges of delivering reliable, ultrapure hydrogen at the high volumes for advanced manufacturing processes.  The article also addresses the advantages of palladium membranes in being able to deliver a stable, consistent purity, particularly in developing countries where gas quality can be inconsistent.  You can read the article on our website by clicking here, or download the PDF (233KB) here.  Click here to visit the Compound Semiconductor website.

Power+Energy Purifiers to Carry the AMSE U-Stamp
To underscore P+E's commitment to providing The Purest Hydrogen on the Planet with the highest levels of safety and reliability, P+E's hydrogen purifier vessels will now carry the ASME U-stamp demonstrating that each pressure vessel has been designed, fabricated, inspected and certified to conform to the ASME Code for Pressure Vessels, Section VIII, Division 1.  Each purifier cell body will carry a permanently fixed U-stamp ID plate.  A duplicate plate will be provided on the outside of the cell's insulating wrap and copies of the ASME certificate of compliance will be provided as part of the purifier documentation.

Offering ASME U-Stamp certification is the latest action in Power+Energy's continuous improvement program to further improve the reliability and performance of its micro-channel membrane hydrogen purifiers and separators supplementing the automated 100% incoming high pressure testing and helium leak testing of purifier membranes prior to assembly.  P+E uses robotic laser welding monitored by machine vision systems for assembling the micro-channel membrane arrays.

New Purifier Product Data Sheets Available

The PE9000MZ series purifiers are high flow purifiers rated at up to 180NM3/hr of 99.9999999% pure hydrogen. These purifiers are used by LED, polysilicon, PV and semiconductor manufacturers. The units feature ASME U-Stamp pressure vessels, are Class I, Div 2 compliant and conform to CE and ATEX regulations.

The PE9000MS series purifiers incorporate the same micro-channel Pd membrane purifier cells in a compact package designed to support the ultrapure hydrogen requirements of one or more systems in flows up to 88 NM3/hr (3095 scfh or 1450 slpm). These models also feature PLC control systems with touch screen HMI displays and Ethernet connectivity.

P+E's PE2100P series is designed for laboratory and research applications for low flow applications. Featuring 3 models with flows up to 30 slpm (2 NM3/hr or 63 scfh), these systems also use P+E's proprietary micro-channel Pd membrane technology delivering the highest possible hydrogen purity from any hydrogen source.
