Dear Saint Paul's family,
Thank you so much for making Ironman weekend such a wonderful success at Saint Paul's Church. I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support you provided to triathletes and their families, friends, and supporters last weekend. We have received so many positive comments from our guests including a few below:
"Thank you for such an amazing dinner"
"I loved this meal and the inspirational speeches we had during dinner"
"Fantastic hospitality and food! It was a great place to relax and talk to some nice people! And the place was amazingly spotless! Thanks for everything!"
"Thank you for your hospitality and support! Everyone was soooo nice!" We love Augusta!"
"So happy to have a place to get the jitters out pre-race. Everyone was so nice and inviting. Thank you again so much!"
"Thank you so much. We were your last dinner guests and we all enjoyed talking to you."
"You were marvelous!"
"What a wonderful place, so welcoming! Thank you!"
"The church pasta dinner was very nice. Not extravagant or over the top, just perfect. The folks there were so nice; the church looked beautiful, top to bottom, inside and out. Thanks also go to the volunteers who extended the church's grace. All very nicely representing Augusta and the event."
"I appreciated the use of the chapel."
"I could not have appreciated this more. Being in God's house was very calming to me since I was terrified to swim. It set the time for positive thinking."
"Great place to relax before the race."
Opening the doors of Saint Paul's Church has given us the opportunity to connect with so many beautiful people. Over the weekend, parish volunteers heard stories of men and women overcoming so much to make it to race day. The Ironman 70.3 is truly an endeavor of mind, body, and spirit. I am thrilled that our parish family did such an incredible job of embracing the event and welcoming so many to our downtown church neighborhood.
Special thanks to each volunteer, age 6 to 80+, who shopped, cooked, baked, set up the River Room, plated food, served food, bussed tables, washed dishes, poured coffee, worked at the swim gear drop, marked numbers on athletes, served refreshments, gave directions, welcomed guests, gave tours, shared a smile and word of encouragement, cheered, and put up signs. You truly were the hands of Christ and you showed this community and the world the love that exists in our church home.
Congratulations also to all of our parishioners who participated in this year's event. You represented us well and are inspirations to us all!
Warmest Regards,
Kim Butler
