We are pleased to announce that Eleanor Smolen has joined the staff at Saint Paul's Church as Director of Youth and Student Ministries.
Eleanor comes to us with several years experience in Youth Ministry, most recently at The Church of the Good Shepherd, where she was Assistant Youth Director. Eleanor tells us she loves and will miss Good Shepherd, but is excited about the work God has for her at Saint Paul's! New programming and activities are in the works for Middle School, High School and even College Students.
Eleanor is from Augusta, is married to Dennis Smolen and has three children - Christian, 9; Audrey, 3; and Ella, 8mos. In her spare time, Eleanor is a Musical Theatre performer and singer.
EYC, You're invited to a Meet and Greet party with Eleanor Smolen, next Sunday November 9 at 5:30pm. Please come and get to know her and find out about all the great things that are happening at Saint Paul's! |

Tour of Historic Churches
Sixty-five visitors toured our church during the Historical Tour of Churches on Sunday, October 26. Members of the History Commission were stationed in the parking lots, front steps, narthex, church, chapel, Tyler Hall, River Room, and Celtic Cross. Each member spoke briefly about our church and the different areas. As the visitors reached Tyler Hall they were treated with our famous punch and five recipes from our cookbook. Eight of our cookbooks were sold during the tour. Many of the visitors were members of other churches and were very impressed with the beauty, history, and warm hospitality that the History Commission extended.

Evensong
Sunday, November 2, 5:30 p.m.
Evensong is the ancient service of vespers and is sung daily in most cathedrals throughout the world. Saint Paul's Church's version of the service is identical to those sung in these cathedrals, with much of the 50 minute service sung without accompaniment.
The choir will premier Philip Stopford's "Belfast Evening Canticles." Mr. Stopford composed this music for St. Anne's Cathedral, Belfast, Ireland, and the performance by the Augusta choir will be one of the first in the United States. Also included in the service will be music of Richard Ayleward and Edgar Bainton.
A reception in Tyler Hall will follow.
