"Leonidas Polk: Confederate Fighting Bishop." Free & Open to the Public
Friday, October 10, 7:00 p.m., Nave and Tyler Hall 
This year marks the 150th anniversary of his funeral and burial at Saint Paul's.  Polk biographer Dr. Glenn Robins, professor of history at Georgia Southwestern State University, will address why people are still interested in Polk and The Reverend George Muir will talk about the funeral service itself.  A reception, hosted by Saint Paul's ECW will follow in Mitchell Tyler Hall.  This event is free and open to the public. Saint Paul's cemetery

During 45-minute tours led by spirit guides in period costume, participants will hear about the history of the cemetery and the residents that are buried there.  Among the spirits featured will be:  The Right Rev. Leonidas Polk, portrayed by The Rev. George Muir; and The Rev. Edward Eugene Ford, portrayed by Cobbs Nixon.  Tickets are $15 per person, or $10 per person for groups of ten or more.  Tickets will be available on site.  More information can be found here

ECW (Episcopal Church Women) Let's Make Something!

Saturday, October 11, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Tyler Hall
Join us Saturday, October 11, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in Tyler Hall to make a craft. You can decorate and begin a prayer journal, start a mandala, or begin your own set of prayer beads. Please bring a $5.00 donation to cover the cost of supplies and a brown bag lunch. We will provide drinks and dessert. CornerStone (Youth Grades 6-12)

CornerStone will meet this Sunday night at 5:00 p.m. at the Epicenter, 1337 Flowing Wells Rd., Augusta, 30909. CornerStone is for ANY & ALL Youth in grades 6th-12th. We meet once a month for food, fun and fellowship! Contact The Reverend Kelsey Hutto for more information.

History Commission Meeting to finalize plans for Historic Tour of Churches

Children, Youth, and Family Committee Meeting

The Children, Youth, and Family Committee will meet Sunday, October 19, following the 11:00 a.m. service in Tyler Hall.   The committee plans events and programs for children, youth and families and provides support for both the Children's and Youth Christian Education Directors. A Celebration of the Ministry of Tara Hansen 
Sunday, October 19, 6:30 p.m., Tyler Hall 
This Sunday will be Tara Hansen's last Sunday as Youth Director.  Tara has been an integral part of Saint Paul's  Christian Formation Programs, leading our youth to a more active life in Christ.  Her passion for teaching and fellowship has strengthened our EYC programs.  To thank Tara for her time and dedication we've planned a special EYC Dinner Sunday, October 19 at 6:30 in Tyler Hall.  RSVP to Kelsey Hutto.  Please bring a side dish and join us to celebrate her ministry. While Tara will no longer be on the staff of Saint Paul's we are happy  that she will continue to be part of our parish family.

Tuesday's Music Live

Tuesday's Music Live, America's largest luncheon concert series, continues its 27th season with a free concert by Duo Astralis (Angela Massey, flute and Vahan Sargsyan, piano) on Tuesday, October 21 at 12:00 noon. Lunch following the concert is being catered by Edgar's Grille and advance reservations can be made online at www.TuesdaysMusicLive.com, or by calling the Box Office, 706-722-3463.
Saint Paul's Mentoring Program to begin October 22
Saint Paul's Mentoring Program will begin October 22.  Mentors tutor children in math or reading at Craig-Houghton Elementary School each Wednesday from 1:15-2:15 p.m. This is a high-impact ministry for both the parishioners who mentor and the children they tutor.  Our mentors tell us how much they enjoy this experience and the standardized test results for these students show significant growth.  The more mentors we have the more students we can help.  If you'd like additional information on this ministry, please contact Anita Tanner or by telephone at  (706) 993-5720. New mentors must complete paperwork for the school district including a background check. 
Saint Paul's Book Club

The Saint Paul's Book Club will meet Thursday, October 23 at 10:30 a.m. in Tyler Hall to discuss Stones From the River by Ursula Hegi.  November's book selection is A Week in Winter by Maeve Binchy.
Master's Table Soup Kitchen, 702 Fenwick St., Augusta
Saturday, October 25, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The Master's Table Soup Kitchen will be staffed and sponsored by Saint Paul's Church volunteers on Saturday, October 25.  First shift from 8:30 - 10:30 is cooking and set up; Second shift from 10:30 -12:30 is serving.  We welcome all volunteers.  Contact John Clemens for more information.
