"Well Done Good & Faithful Servants, Well Done."

This past weekend the people of Saint Paul's offered to the community members and visitors alike a powerful ministry of hospitality.  Our Outreach Committee, led by Jack Hayman, empowered all of us to open our doors and welcomed hundreds of athletes and their families to share the warmth and life of this parish.

To arrive in the dark of early morning and see the lights of Saint Paul's shining brightly, flags flying and doors opened wide was a powerful and moving experience.  Throughout the weekend to hear scores of people offer their thanks and appreciation lets us know that our hard work was of value.  I believe that those of us who participate in the events of the Ironman weekend were uplifted by the encouraging and positive response of so many.

In the midst of it all we continued to do what we do so well.  Sunday's worship was a powerful extension of our belief that it is our God who empowers and sustains us as we fulfill his mission.

I join with fellow parishioners, with athletes and their families, with the city of Augusta in offering my thanks for a job well done.  "Well done good and faithful servants; well done."
