"Cut and Post"

Saint Paul's Facebook

If you have a Facebook account I hope that you have liked our Facebook Page. A lot goes into keeping the page up to date and interesting. We have a Facebook Committee of 6 people who keep it running. Over the past year we have increased the number of likes on our page by 100 people!

We put all kinds of things our Facebook Page, from scriptures, to funny cartoons, upcoming events and even a quiz or two. This year we would like to take our Facebook impact to another level. The thing about Facebook is that it is only good if you have liked our Facebook page. So what we want to do is take it beyond just Saint Paul's page and put it into your hands, our Saint Paul's family.

Each time we have an important upcoming event we are going to write a Facebook post. All you have to do is copy it from the weekly postings and paste it into your status. Leave it there for a few hours or even a whole day! This way those who are friends with you but may not have like our page will see our upcoming event!

It is a new form of Evangelism for the 21st century!

Our first post will be coming up next week! Keep your eyes open for our new section in the Weekly Postings: Cut & Post!

I give of myself to Saint Paul's Because...

Describing a religious service held on HMS Prince of Wales when President Roosevelt and Prime Minister Churchill met for the first time as the leaders of the free world, Jon Meacham has written: "the service ...was working a kind of magic, which is one of the points of liturgy and theater: to use the dramatic to convince people of a reality they cannot see."

This magnificent church, in its historic setting, the human effort that is so evident here, the continuity of this place of worship for many generations and the certain faith that worship will continue here, convince me of a reality that I cannot see. Not just preserving and protecting the place but the mission of carrying forward the traditions of thoughtful preaching, dignified worship, fine music, and civic involvement for generations yet unborn - that is why I give to Saint Paul's and have included Saint Paul's in my estate plan.
