Choirs Begin New Season End of August
The Canterbury and Saint Paul's Choirs begin their new season at the end of August. The Canterbury Choir will have a lock-in at the church on Friday night through Saturday morning, 22 and 23 August. Both choirs have their first rehearsals on Wednesday, 27 August. The Canterbury Choir is for children in grades 3-9 and the Saint Paul's Choir is for high school sophomores through adults. Both choirs will sing weekly at the 11 a.m. Sunday morning service beginning on 7 September. Because Melissa Schultz, the Director of the St. Nicholas Choir (for children in pre-K through grade 2), has just had a baby that choir will begin as soon as Melissa is ready, probably late September or early October. For information about any of the parish's three choirs, please contact Keith Shafer, Director of Music, or by phone at 706-724-2485 x 215.

I give of myself to Saint Paul's Because...

Saint Paul's warmly accepts my gifts, both large and small
In giving, I am blessed
Thirty years ago, I was searching for a church home. At Saint Paul's I was greeted warmly not only by the rector, but by people in the pews-people to whom I was a stranger. I visited only a few weeks before gathering my nerve to approach Keith after the service. I still remember saying, "I'm not a soloist, but I read music, have minimum vibrato, and can blend well. Could I sing in your choir?" He welcomed me immediately, and my search for a new home ended that day.
We all need to serve, and we all need to feel needed. That immediate acceptance of what I could offer-that immediate inclusion by parishioners and staff-is what brought me to Saint Paul's, and why I still love being here. In the past 30 years, I've become active with other groups at Saint Paul's where I can also share the gifts God has given me. And I have met wonderful, loving friends who have become my family. My roots have grown deep, and I am blessed to "bloom" at Saint Paul's.
