Senior Warden's Weekly Report to the Parish
Fellow Parishioners:
I am pleased to report that Susan and George have moved from 711 Milledge Road to #3 Shadowbrook Circle in Rockbrook. Why am I pleased to report this to you? Let me explain.
Our landlord on Milledge Road is moving back to Augusta and wanted to talk about our willingness to terminate our lease early. It became clear to George and me that we would not be able to extend our lease beyond October, 2015 which was the original lease term. Our plan is for George to continue serving as Interim Rector at least until the summer of 2016. This being the case, the situation created an opportunity to have a financially neutral move if a suitable temporary rectory could be identified. Susan located a wonderful residence which filled the bill. We negotiated a win-win termination agreement with the Milledge Road landlord who was very accommodative. We also executed a two year lease for the Rockbrook residence. The cost of the new lease will be less than we're currently paying due to anticipated reductions in utility and lawn maintenance expenses.
Hopefully, this explains to you my pleasure in reporting that Susan and George have moved to a new residence. Also, we can look forward to a whole new series of house warming parties.
The Muirs have taken this move in stride. They are real troopers and we are truly thankful for them. God is still looking out for St. Paul's.
Blessings,
Monty

We often receive warm thanks from the community for the events held at Saint Paul's. One such letter follows:
Thank you, thank you for the most wonderful celebration. Thank you for honoring our men and women of all branches of the military at Saint Paul's Fourth of July Celebration.
We were surrounded by many service members and among them my husband who has served for 49 years in the Air Force and DOD. We have been in Augusta for 8 years now and we are so grateful for all that you do for the community. We love Tuesday Music and now, God willing, we will always attend the 4th of July festivities at Saint Paul's church.
Although both Tuesday's Music Live and the Riverwalk Series are managed by separate independent boards, the community sees them as Saint Paul's events. & because so many of our parishioners are financial sponsors and others spend countless hours volunteering at these events they have become part of our community outreach and our "back-door" evangelism.
Our thanks to all who helped to make this year's event a success. Keith Shafer is deserving of a special thank you. It is his vision, energy, and enthusiasm that creates such a wonderful gift to us all.

In the weeks and months to come your Stewardship Committee is moving toward a program of year-round stewardship. Don't worry, we won't be talking about money nonstop, but we will be lifting up and giving thanks for the stewardship of our time, talents and treasures.
You will have noticed that in the Prayers of the People we are praying for those groups and individuals at Saint Paul's who offer of themselves to the work and mission of the parish. We would like to now reach out to you. Stewardship is not simply the work of a small committee trying to raise money for the work of the parish. Stewardship is the work and responsibility of all who call Saint Paul's their church home.
In your Sunday bulletin, online and on our mobile app, you will find a short questionnaire. There is one simple question: "I/We give of ourselves, our time talent and treasure to Saint Paul's because.....". Answers to this question will help all of us understand better the many and varied ways we are connected to one another and to the life and ministry of Jesus Christ through this wonderful parish.
Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughtful response.
George
