From the Rector

The activities and ministries of Saint Paul's Church are many, involving committed and caring people dedicated to Jesus's work through this parish.  Beginning this week and continuing throughout the year we will be holding up these ministries, jobs and areas of responsibility in prayer.  It is important that all of us, as a community of faith, hold the work we do and the people who do that work in our prayers.

You will notice that each week a different ministry and/or persons involved in them will be prayed for in the Prayers of the People.  Use this as an opportunity to give thanks for them and ask God's blessing upon them.   It takes many committed people to do the work we have been given to do.  As we remember them in prayer may we be drawn to ask how God wants us to offer of ourselves.

The Senior Warden's Report

Fellow Parishioners:

I had planned to report on the Vestry meeting with the Bishop during his annual visitation this week, but there is not much to report.  The Bishop is a "process" kind of guy and we spent most of the meeting talking about administrative things, most of which I've reported to you already.

I was able to report to the Bishop and Vestry that our average Sunday attendance for 2014 through April 20 was 294 compared to 247 for the same period last year, an increase of 19%.

Last week I reported on our April Vestry meeting in which we reviewed our priorities and responsibilities.  George and I thought it would be appropriate to publish the May Vestry Agenda which reflects those priorities and responsibilities.  Not only does this agenda reflect our initiatives, it also reflects our current organization and committee structure along with Vestry assignments.  Click here for a copy of the agenda.

Blessings,

Monty

Last week at Saint Paul's
