Annual Meeting Recap

Vestry Nominations and Elections

Clay Coleman, III, Martha Scroggs, and Rex Teeslink were elected to the Vestry. Monty Osteen was elected as Senior Warden.
Annual Meeting Recognitions

During our transition last year, Carolyn and Bill Dolen worked tirelessly to ensure that all the details of our Sunday worship liturgy were in place.  The Senior Warden thanked the Dolens for their numerous contributions to the church.

The Senior Warden recognized a substantial gift made to the church to allow the installation of a new digital audio/video system by Nancy and Ted Hussey.
The Clergy and Vestry of Saint Paul's Church passed a resolution in recognition and profound appreciation of distinguished service by Anita and Wendell Tanner.  A copy of the resolution was presented to the Tanners noting that,  Anita and Wendell Tanner are two of the rocks on which hospitality at Saint Paul's is built.

All three couples received standing ovations by the Parish for their many gifts given to the church.
The New Saint Paul's App was revealed

Toxic Charity Sminar
Saturday, March 15, 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Church of the Holy Comforter

Robert Lupton, author of Toxic Charity, will be presenting a seminar on this topic at Church of the Holy Comforter, Saturday March 15, 9:30 am - 3:00 pm. The cost is $20 per person and includes lunch.

Lupton is a veteran urban activist in Atlanta and founder of FCS Urban Ministries (Focused Community Strategies). He proposes that our current models of outreach actually do more harm than good, becoming "toxic charity." The Toxic Charity seminar will show us how to start serving needy and impoverished members of our communities in a way that will lead to lasting, real-world change.

Church of the Holy Comforter is located at 473 Fury's Ferry Road, Martinez, Georgia, 30907. To register, call the church office at 706-210-1133 or e-mail administrator Emily Mumford at administrator@holycomforterchurch.org.
