CCISD: Snapshots is a weekly photo newsletter that highlights events, activities and happenings across CCISD. 

Anyone can submit a photo for CCISD: Snapshots! Just remember the following:
  • CCISD policy and procedures require all students to have the proper CCISD photo release to appear in CCISD publications  
  • Not all photos submitted can or will be used in CCISD: Snapshots. The Office of Communications has final photo approval
  • Photos must be submitted in .jpg format

'Hatch' Me If You Can...

If you've been hearing "chirping" across the district, you're not alone. First grade students are studying the development of eggs as part of their science curriculum. After 21 days of incubation, chicks are hatching across CCISD!

    

Robotics Team Takes Top Spot at Programming Challenge

The team of Toan Nguyen, Amad Harmouch and Bobby Pinard from Clear Brook High School took first place in the Advanced Robotics Programming Challenge hosted by the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Each of these students received a $500 scholarship, an interview for a summer internship at AtLink Communications Inc. and a programmable robotics tank.

The Most Important Meal of the Day

To show students the importance of eating a healthy breakfast each morning, Ed White Elementary participated in the four week Breakfast Challenge. As part of the festivities, Principal Matt Paulson and Coach Wendy Clough dressed in costume to serve breakfast to the students. 

The Clear Falls Mighty Knights JROTC Has Been Busy

The JROTC Cadets of Clear Falls High School recently spent the day with League City Firefighters. The cadets learned about the operations and functions of the League City Fire Department, witnessed an equipment demonstration and asked insightful questions of these local heroes.

 

The Clear Falls JROTC Cadets swept the 2014 CCISD JROTC Boat Regatta. Cadets Anderson, Blacksmith, Hernandez and Spanial built a cardboard boat based on the History Channel television series "Vikings." The cadets took first place in all three categories: Top Design, Fastest Boat and Most Buoyant. Congratulations!

All Stars Soak in the Sunshine

Weber Elementary enjoyed some fun in the sun at their recent Field Day. Students and teachers enjoyed races, relays and lots of refreshments as they are counting down to the last day of school.

Clear Falls High School Student Honored by the

Greater Houston Athletic Trainers' Society

Clear Falls High School senior Shelby Rodriguez received the Texas State Athletic Trainers' Society All-State Academic Award. Students must maintain a high school GPA of 92 or above for this award. Shelby was honored at the Greater Houston Athletic Trainers' Society (GHATS) annual student trainer convention. Congratulations!

 

League City Intermediate Students are Making WAVEs in their Community

Recently, sixth grade WAVE students from League City Intermediate participated in a community service project called Project Legacy. The students researched, planned and coordinated with 16 non-profit organizations in the League City area to provide help to local citizens, animals and the environment.

Clear Springs High School Students Inspire Charger Pride

Clear Springs High School student Nick Zamora has been presented the Congressional Award by U.S. Representative Randy Weber. The Congressional Award, established in 1979 by Congress, recognizes personal accomplishments and success in volunteer public service, personal development, physical fitness and exploration.

 

Senior Denise Weisz will represent Clear Springs High School in the upcoming University Interscholastic League state competition. Denise will compete in the Ready Writing and Editorial Writing categories. Good luck!
