SCOOP the Pelican Visits Whitcomb Elementary!
|

The CCISD Child Nutrition Department's Power Up Port has a new member of the family! Scoop is the Power Up Port's pelican mascot who helps educate students on the importance of healthy eating habits. SCOOP made his debut at Whitcomb Elementary where he accompanied kindergarten students on a cafeteria tour. Students were able to meet the Child Nutrition staff that work in Whitcomb's kitchen, see the over-sized dishwasher in action, and if brave enough, venture into the walk-in freezer. After the tour, students shared what they learned with Scoop and were rewarded with a high-five, a healthy snack, and a chance to take a photo with their new feathery friend. |
