Please VOTE for AHNA!

We are so thankful to our clients for voting us 'Best Veterinarian in WNC' year after year!

Winning this award means the world to our staff because we do our very best to treat every pet with not only the best technology and medicine available, but also with love and compassion. Our entire team, from the client care representatives who greet you at the front desk to the technician and nursing staff members to the veterinarians themselves, all care deeply that you and your pet have the best possible experience at our hospital.

When you vote for Animal Hospital of North Asheville as best 'Veterinary Services in WNC' you are voting for each member of our amazing staff - and we all thank you!

Please take a moment to Vote for AHNA - voting ends May 5th!
Help us support Paws On A Mission's pet therapy program!  We will be offering you the opportunity to make a donation here at Animal Hospital of North Asheville from April 14 to May 9th!  You may also join us on May 9th for the Paws on Parade Walk at the NC Arboretum. Registration begins at 11am and the walk starts at noon.

Animal Hospital of North Asheville is excited to be a sponsor for the Paws on Parade Walk again this year. Many of the 77 wonderful dogs in the Mission pet therapy program are our patients, and we are so grateful for the amazing work they and their people do. Each team of a dog and their pet parent touches hundreds and hundreds of lives through the healing power of pets. Click Here for more information.
AHNA Staff Member Adopts Abused Dog - The Happy Story
April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. According to the ASPCA, every ten seconds an animal is abused or beaten, but recognizing cruelty is not always that simple. Crystal, who is part of our amazing Client Care Team at Animal Hospital of North Asheville, and her husband took a pit bull into their life who had suffered unnoticed for months or years. This dear dog had suffered from a form of abuse we see far too often. Click Here to read their story of love and a second chance.

AHNA Donates to Help Needy Cats and Dogs

In appreciation for the amazing amount of food donated during our Annual Holiday Pet Food Drive last December, Animal Hospital of North Asheville purchased and donated over 2700 pounds of cat, kitten, dog and puppy food to be fed to the needy pets of our community.  You might wonder why an animal hospital would make a donation of over $2800 to help needy animals.  We do it because we care about all animals, not just the ones lucky enough to have wonderful homes.  We feel fortunate to be in a position to be able to leverage our donation to get lots of pet food donated by our clients and friends. By AHNA promising to donate at least 2000 pounds if 5000 pounds are donated, we stimulate our wonderful community to bring food in for our annual pet food drive each year. This year the community donated over 5000 pounds, which along with this 2700 pounds, adds up to over 7700 pounds of pet food! Click Here to read more!
FDA Alert: Illnesses and Deaths in Pets Exposed to Prescription Topical Pain Medication
ISSUE: FDA is alerting pet owners, veterinarians, health care providers and pharmacists that pets are at risk of illness and death when exposed to topical pain medications containing the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) flurbiprofen. People using these medications should use care when applying them in a household with pets, as even very small amounts could be dangerous to these animals. Click Here to read more.
Clooney: Little Dog, BIG Voice!
Dr. Dave and Dr. Betsy's beloved grand-dog Clooney visited (along with their daughter!) recently. Clooney may be a little dog, but he's got a BIG voice - and he's got a lot to say. Click Here to enjoy this video of Clooney speaking his mind!
Made In The USA
As concerns over Chinese and other foreign products continue, manufacturers know consumers want foods, treats, supplements, and pet supplies to be made in the U.S.A. That's why they're marketing them that way. But just because a marketing claim is made doesn't mean you're buying what you want. Click Here for tips to help you be sure you're getting what you want.
Congrats To Our Most Recent Tricks & Games Graduates!

Congratulations to Sprout, Ruby, and Bella - our most recent Tricks & Games graduates! We are so proud of everything they learned and we hope they had half as much fun as we did! Learning tricks and games is a fun way to strengthen the relationship between the dogs and their families, increase the dog's mental stimulation, and is a fun activity for the whole family. A special thanks to Jenny White, CPDT-KA of Dog-Ed for teaching this wonderful class!
