(VOTING ENDS May 21st)
We are so thankful to our clients for voting us 'Best Veterinarian in WNC' year after year. Winning this award means the world to our staff because we do our very best to treat every pet with not only the best technology and medicine available, but also with love and compassion. Our entire team, from the client care representatives who greet you at the front desk to the technician and nursing staff members to the veterinarians themselves, all care deeply that you and your pet have the best possible experience at our hospital.
When you vote for Animal Hospital of North Asheville as best 'Veterinary Services in WNC' you are voting for each member of our amazing staff - and we all thank you!
Please take a moment to Vote for AHNA - voting ends May 21st!
We were honored by being named Practice of the Year for 2014 (this isn't the Mountain Xpress award - we still need your vote!) during a major veterinary conference with the judges saying: For their devotion to bettering their community; their dedication to staying on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine; their commitment to their team; their passion for educating their clients using both modern and traditional methods; and their emotional investment in the work they do every day, from leadership on down - Animal Hospital of North Asheville is Petplan's 2014 Practice of the Year.
We know that we stood out for, among many other things, our efforts to eliminate stress associated with veterinary care, whether it is a dog or a cat, and most recently achieving the Gold Standard for a Cat-Friendly Practice. We have totally separate areas for cats and dogs with the exception of radiology, ultrasound, surgery and dental surgery, which are strategically located so that cats do not have to catch a glimpse of a dog to get to them. We stay abreast of the constantly evolving knowledge of what provides comfort and reduces stress in our cat patients. Cats definitely think differently than dogs and, therefore, need to be treated differently in a medical setting. Of course, we are just as concerned about the anxiety level of our dog patients and stay abreast of all new information on canine anxiety. Needless to say, we give lots and lots of treats to both dogs and cats in order to lessen any anxiety they may be feeling.
We also do not separate pets from the people they love during treatments or hospitalizations. We encourage you to accompany your pet for any non-anesthetic procedure anywhere in the hospital except radiology and chemotherapy (due to safety regulations). We have glass pods in our treatment room to accommodate you and your pet during hospitalizations. We provide all-night nursing care each weeknight with shifts of staff so that staff members are constantly attending to pain control and patient care. We provide Saturday morning hours as well as Saturday and Sunday urgent care hours for our patients, and evening hours until 8:30 p.m. each weeknight.
