Feature: Top OSHA Violations We See in Warehousing

Over the decades, Tri-Lift has been in thousands of facilities, and we have seen our share of clear OSHA violations. These violations can not only result in significant fines by OSHA, but they can also result in injury, lost productivity, and increased costs associated with injury.  These are a few of the violations that we see most frequently:
  1. The absence of systematic safety reviews - How often do you perform and document a review of your facility and potential hazards? A regular, systematic review of your facility ensures you are doing all you can to keep employees safe, reduce accidents, and improve results in your facility at the same time.
  2. Non-functioning safety devices - Safety devices, such as photo eyes, reversing edges, and audible warning devices are just a few of the items that should be in working order at all times. A systematic review would ensure proper operation.

  3. Racking not labeled - Racking needs to be labeled to ensure the proper products are being deposited there and that the loads deposited do not exceed the rated capacity of the racking.

  4. Racking Beams Not Properly LockedThere are proper ways to ensure that racking is locked in accordance with its specifications.

If you are unsure if your facility is deficient in any of these areas, give us a call. We would be glad to assist you in a review and help you set up a program to ensure your facility is within OSHA safety regulations.

Company News: Here We Grow Again...and Celebrate!

Although we've been in business since 1968, this November, Tri-Lift will celebrate 20 years in the North Carolina market. During those 20 years, our customers have allowed us to grow and prosper, and in November, we will be taking a day to say "Thank YOU!" to all that have helped us achieve our results.

That growth and expansion continues even today. Here's what's going on:

  • We are expanding our Greensboro facility by over 11,000 square feet.
  • Our number of service bays in Greensboro will increase by 50%
  • We have added 4 acres of land to allow for future expansions
  • Both of our Raleigh and Mooresville facilities are up and running
  •  We've added the following to our staff to assist our growing customer base:
    • John Shaffer - Field Sales Manager, Roanoke VA - 30 years experience in materials handling
    • Adrian Fox - Assistant Parts Manager, Raleigh NC - 25 years experience in materials handling
    • Steve Evans - Service Administrator, Greensboro NC - 24 years of equipment experience, U.S. Navy Veteran
We're proud of our accomplishments over the past 20 years in North Carolina and are excited to see what the next 20 years will bring. Give us a call and put our experience to work for you in your materials handling operation. We have a feeling you will be glad you did!
