This month our AHP Member highlight is on Eileen Vo, PharmD

Eileen Vo, PharmD

Inpatient Staff Pharmacist
Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, CA

Where did you study?

Temple University School of Pharmacy in Philadelphia, PA. Class of 2010

How long have you been practicing?

5 years of working experience as a pharmacist.

How long have you been a member of CPhA?

Recently joined CPhA this year.

How long have you been on the AHP Board?

Recently joined AHP Board this year.

Why do you think being a CPhA member is important?

Being a CPhA member is important part of giving back to the profession.  Need to contribute effort to move the profession forward.  Need to participate in training pharmacists for leadership roles.  These are things that are not taught in pharmacy school and one cannot learn from books.  Often, pharmacists are placed in leadership and management position without training.  For these reason, I feel that being a CPhA member is important.

What do you hope to achieve during your term on the AHP Board?

My goal is to advocate for practice standards and legislative changes that will promote patient safety and improve the current pharmacy operations.

Advocate on Behalf of Health-System Pharmacists!

For any pharmacists who were unable to attend the CA Pharmacy Legislative Day at the Capitol in Sacramento, CPhA will be organizing a series of Regional Legislative Day events every Saturday from May 30th - June 27th  in which Health-System Pharmacists will learn about state legislation related to pharmacy and receive the opportunity to advocate to legislative representatives regarding pharmacy practice or patient access issues.

These events are open to all pharmacists including non-members. Earlybird rate is $39, $49 after earlybird deadline. Registration includes 2 hours of CE, coffee and lunch.  For more information or to register online, please click here.
