From the Land of Kansas

From the Land of Kansas is a state trademark program made possible by the Kansas Department of Agriculture. It encourages the sale, branding and support of Kansas grown products and does so by making them more identifiable to consumers. The program focuses on promoting the Kansas brand for local businesses, inspiring consumers to support Kansas with their purchasing decisions and exemplifying our state's high-quality products.

From the Land of Kansas is hosting a trade show on March 4-5, 2014, to further promote Kansas' goods. To learn more about the program click here to visit their website or "like" them on Facebook.

Kansas State University established the Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy (ICDD) in 2004 to enhance democracy through improved community deliberation. Soon after, the Center for Engagement and Community Development (CECD) was created by K-State in 2006 to connect the resources of the university to significant issues of public need facing Kansas and communities worldwide. To help sustain rural communities due to growing economic problems, CECD launched the Rural Grocery Initiative (RGI) in 2008.
