Brown County Hosts Community Event Addressing Food Issues 


A Brown County FEAST (Food Education Agriculture Solutions Together) event was held Monday, September 24, 2012 in Hiawatha, Kansas. The goal of the Brown County FEAST program is to help organize participants to develop and strengthen Brown County's local food system. About 60 participants took part in a panel presentation, small group work, and enjoyed a dinner made from local ingredients.

The Center for Engagement and Community Development has a new website! Updates have been made to sync the CECD website with Kansas State University's content management system and to coordinate better with the new K-State branding strategy, with the overall goal of making the K-State website a more user-friendly and positive experience. Upcoming Events

Participate in Election 2012: 
A DebateWatch event will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kansas State University Student Union Room 227. The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Participants will watch the presidential candidate debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney and then engage in a facilitated discussion. Any questions can be directed to Myles Alexander at mylesks@ksu.edu or (785) 532-7252. We hope to see you there!


Mon. Oct. 22, DebateWatch

7:30-9:30 p.m.
The DebateWatch event will give participants the opportunity to discuss the Presidential Debates in a small group.  It will be held in the K-State Student Union Room 227.


Wed. October 9, Economic Security Forum 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss ideas on how to solve economic issuesIt will be held in the Ecumenical Campus Ministry (ECM) Auditorium, located at 1021 Denison Avenue.  


Tues. Nov. 6

Kids Voting, Kansas
Students K-12 will be participating in a presidential mock election at their schools. Volunteers are needed. If interested in helping please contact Amanda Meinhardt at amein@ksu.edu
