STEVE'S ITEM OF INTEREST | |
You may notice a few changes in Schemper's Paint Department recently. We have just completed a reset of aisles 4 and 5 that we know will make your painting projects quicker and convenient.
In aisle 4 you will find a new assortment of wire brushes in brass, steel, and nylon bristles. A more complete line of taping knives, joint knives, and putty knives has also been added. Touching up damaged texture on your walls will also be much simpler with an expanded assortment of touch-up sprays in popcorn (for ceilings), orange peel, and knockdown textu  re.
While visiting aisle 5 you will see a new assortment of roller handles, roller covers, brushes, and mini rollers that have been added. Also, don't miss the newly introduced Ace six piece paint set for only $14.99. The set includes two 3/8 inch roller covers, a roller handle, a 1 1/2 inch Ace angle premium brush, a deep well paint tray, and an edging pad.

Spruce Up Your Home With Color! | | |
 Spring is here and it's time to spruce up your home with color.

Tips for painting:
- Use sample jars of paint or quarts to check colors.
- Check your color in different lighting (day and night).
- Paint your test sample on poster board. (This allows you to view the color in other rooms, with your cabinets, flooring, or bedding.)
- If you see a color you love at a friend, family or neighbor's home, ask for their paint info (brand and color) and we will match the color.
- Feeling a little bold? Try an accent wall color.
- Look at your color samples for a few days to confirm your choice.
- When painting your home, start in back; you will be more motivated to finish.

Adding Color To Your Spring Garden | | |
Who says the only way to add color to your garden landscape is to plant flowers? There are many bright, bold and lovely perennial plants that can be added to your garden. If color is something you desire consider some of these choices:
Heuchera "Coral Bells" are an evergreen plant grown for its strikingly colorful rounded or fringed leaves. There are so many great colors to choose from- lime green to orange to purple. Use heuchera for mass plantings, as borders or in containers- the possibilities are endless.
Cordyline can provide dramatic foliage color for  your garden landscape or containers. These plants feature sword shaped leaves that come in a multitude of colors. With a height of 2-4 feet, cordyline is a perfect accent piece. Electric Pink Cordyline is seen here.
Euonymus comes in a wide variety of colors, shapes and sizes. These evergreen bushes feature leaves that can be bright yellow with green, dark green, green with white edges or even a bold red. Heights ranging from a ground-hugging habit to a tall and upright shrub perfect for hedges, euonymus is an excellent choice for color.
Think outside the "flower pot" and look around at all the amazing, foliage colors and textures that you can add to your garden.

Don't Forget....We Recycle Paint! | | |
We are constantly looking for ways to be a "greener" retailer as we care about the overall health of our planet. For a few years now, Schemper's ACE Hardware has been your paint recycling location, accepting homeowners' "left over" latex enamel paint. We have been able to do so thanks to a state grant and in partnership with Visions Paint Recycling, Inc. In order to accept paint to be recycled, it must be: 
- undiluted
- in its original, un-rusted can
- clearly labeled
- in a sealed container (no leaks)
Just bring it through the front door of our store and we will assist you in making the right thing happen. |
