Bulbs Are Changing. Let Schemper's Light the Way.
A few years ago California began implementing legislation that effectively began phasing out standard incandescent light bulbs. The reason for these laws is to eliminate energy hogging lights and promote the new technologies that are now available. At first it seemed people would be forced to use bulbs they didn't want or be left in the dark. Here at Schemper's, we acted quickly and already we have hundreds of items to choose from, so that you can light your home the way you want to at the price you want to pay. There are now three alternative bulbs to choose from:
First there are Halogen bulbs. These are essentially energy-efficient incandescent bulbs and look very similar to standard incandescents. They use less energy and last about the same time.
Next there are the now-commonplace CFL bulbs. CFL's have come a long way since their inception. There are now many colors and shapes. There are even bulbs that look and perform just like incandescents; such as dimmable ones and flood lights. These bulbs not only use less energy than incandescents, including halogens, but they also last longer too.
Last there are LED light bulbs. LED technology has recently emerged so that it can also replace incandescents. Just like CFLs, LEDs also come in many types and some can also be dimmable. Unlike CFLs, however, LEDs consume less energy yet and can last up to two times longer. That's up to 25 years!
Of course we do still have standard incandescent light bulbs stocked up. They are available at Schemper's while supplies last. Our incandescents, halogens, CFLs and LEDs are all on sale for the month of October, so come in and let us help you find the bulb that's right for you. With new laws phasing out many incandescent light bulbs, Schemper's can shed light on the right replacement bulbs you need.
