Where are you?

December 12

Join in the homecoming fun, December 12, in the Watson Groen Memorial Gymnasium as our Shoreline Christian basketball teams take on Darrington.

Girls Varsity game starts at 6:00 followed by the Boys Varsity game at 7:30.

Participate in our alumni half-time shootout and stick around for an alumni reception following the game.

On June 16, 2003, I arrived to find many of our school windows had been graced with congratulatory messages and words of encouragement from soon to be departed seniors.    The picture is from my office window looking out toward the gym.  Someone went through a bit of thinking to make sure the message was something I could appreciate from inside my office.

In the book Engaging God's World, Neal Plantinga defines shalom as living as God intended.  It is a vision I have for our graduates wherever you are.  The irony on the message on my office window is the "L" is not quite as the artist intended.  This picture is one of the purest expressions of why our school exists.   It is that idea that we have a vision for shalom and the realization that we have work ahead of us to implement that vision.

To all the graduates of our school, live as God intended.  Shalom.

Featured Alumni:  Chelsea (Lidstrom) Peck

In case you missed the performances of Chelsea (class of 2006) and her husband Benjamin at the SCS Auction, here is what she shared about them:

Weaving the soulful passion of blues and rock with the honesty of folk, married musical duo Mr. & Mrs. Something offer a refreshing taste of hope that feels like coming home. Since recording their first demo in 2012 where they performed a combined 12 different instruments, the multi-faceted couple has grown their repertoire of instruments, original songs and achievements, including a 2013 victory in Spirit 105.3's Local Music Project.

Also known as Benjamin "Binoand Chelsea Peck, the Somethings have a special place in their hearts for Shoreline Christian School. Chelsea (formerly Chelsea Lidstrom) and her brother Sean are the second generation of SCS alumni in their family. Mr. & Mrs. Something are eternally grateful for how God has used SCS to impact their musical and personal lives.

Meet Our New Sixth Grade Teacher

As many of you know, after teaching forty years at Shoreline Christian School, Wayne Clousing retired in June.  Tiffany Davis joined our faculty this year as the new sixth grade teacher.  Tiffany graduated from Northwest University with a Masters in Teaching.  She is originally from the Edmonds area, but just recently moved back from England, where her husband Ben is from.  They have a two year old son named Kieran.  As a family they enjoy traveling, hiking, and running with their Dalmatian, Kani.
Memorial Garden Plaques
In celebration of our 60th anniversary, a space was created for stories - past and present - a memorial garden.

Now we need stories!  You can tell your story on a plaque that will be attached to the faces of the benches.  Learn more here.

Where Are You Now?
Each month we like to feature a different Alumni in our newsletter.  It's a great way to re-connect. We would love to hear from you about what you're doing now.  Share your story with us.
