NVSR Picnic Report |
The NVSR Annual Picnic was a complete success - bigger and better than ever. We had a beautiful sunny (hot, too!) day, and everyone had a great time. More than 135 humans attended with more than 100 Shelties and Sheltie "wannabes". NVSR collected nearly $5500 through the Silent Auction, Sheltie Shop sales, Joy's goodies, the 50-50 raffle, and other donations. We had some expenses, of course, like the park and portable toilet fees, purchasing new shirts and other sales items, etc. But, we expect to clear well over $4000 from the picnic. We are sincerely grateful for every dollar we collect, and we promise to use them very wisely for our Shelties.
Here are two picnic high spots:
- Remember our collective moment thinking about helping Dusty find his way home up there in Michigan? Well, maybe it worked, for he was found on the porch of his doggie daycare place that very evening. Many burrs in his coat were all he suffered.
- Shady was adopted to a very deserving elderly gentleman looking for a devoted companion.

A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers, adopters and friends - and especially the SHELTIES - who made our picnic so successful this year! |
