Greetings!
At Home
You Just Never Know What You're Going To Find
Greetings!
Play Ball!
If its April, its baseball time. MLB starts April 3 with last season's World Series teams Mets and Royals matching up. Experts believe these teams will once again battle in October. Also, look for some fun baseball trivia throughout the newsletter. And we all know baseball is all about nostalgia. This month we feature Newport, Rhode Island as our day trip destination. The perfect time for the visit may be its Restaurant Week. Keeping it closer to home, New Haven has its Restaurant Week, April 3-8 where a prix fixe lunch is only $20.16. The Connecticut Historical Society is featuring an exhibit of Hartford's own Beatrice Auerbach, better known as the department store matriarch of the G.Fox & Company. And speaking of home, many of us homeowners will be closing out the mild winter tending to our lawns and gardens. April is plant a tree month. If you have young children in school, you'll soon be reminded of our environment. So plant a tree with them. To a joyous April - Aiello

Asparagus and Soft Eggs on Toast
Switch up your breakfast routine with this tasty egg dish.
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS
* 4 slices rustic country bread
* 1 pound asparagus, tough ends trimmed
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* kosher salt and black pepper
* 8 large eggs
1/4 cup Pamesan ( 1 ounce)

DIRECTIONS: * Heat broiler. Place the bread and asparagus on a baking sheet. Drizzle with the oil and season with 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper.
* Broil until the bread is toasted, 1 to 2 minutes per side; transfer the bread to plates. Continue broiling the asparagus, tossing once, until tender, 4 to 8 minutes more.
* Meanwhile, bring a large saucepan of water to a boil. Carefully lower the eggs into the water. Reduce heat and gently simmer for 6 minutes. Cool under running water and peel.
