It's getting a bit nippy out there.

And to warm things up, we selected a few seasonal adults only cider cocktail recipes for your enjoyment pleasure.

Once again Aiello will be donating turkeys to local area food banks and we encourage you to do the same if you are able. Whether its donating time, dropping off non-perishable food items, or a providing a turkey of your own, helping those in need is a worthy community cause.

The Manchester Road Race still has legs. Now in its 79th year it doesn't look like it will slow down anytime soon. Holiday shopping at Open Studio Hartford gives art lovers two days of hopping around the city looking at works of art by painters, ceramists, photographers, jewelry designers, and much, much more. Another place for holiday shoppers is Cold Spring, New York. Located on the Hudson River our Day Trip feature of the month is like eye candy to antique lovers. Enjoy it while the weather remains cool and dry.

Lastly, Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans. On November 11th, take a moment to remember those that have served our country.

To a joyous November - Aiello

A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption
by Laura Hillenbrand

In boyhood, Louis Zamperini was an incorrigible delinquent. As a teenager, he channeled his defiance into running, discovering a prodigious talent that had carried him to the Berlin Olympics. But when World War II began, the athlete became an airman, embarking on a journey that led to a doomed flight on a May afternoon in 1943. When his Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean, against all odds, Zamperini survived, adrift on a foundering life raft. Ahead of Zamperini lay thousands of miles of open ocean, leaping sharks, thirst and starvation, enemy aircraft, and, beyond, a trial even greater. Driven to the limits of endurance, Zamperini would answer desperation with ingenuity; suffering with hope, resolve, and humor; brutality with rebellion. His fate, whether triumph or tragedy, would be suspended on the fraying wire of his will.
