 MWA encourages its members
to support the largest Muslim-led outdoor
Urban International Festival in the country - Takin'
it to the Streets. What: Takin' it to the Streets
is a
fusion of artistic expression and community engagement, bridging
cultural divides through a cutting edge, free festival. By connecting
diverse racial, ethnic, and religious communities under a common human
narrative, Streets enriches the practice of cross-cultural community
building not only in Chicago, but around the world. Takin' it to the Streets is sponsored by IMAN (Inner-City Muslim Action
Network), a non-profit organization celebrating its 13th anniversary. When/Where: Saturday, June 19 in historic Marquette Park (67th &
Kedzie) in Chicago, the site where Martin Luther King, Jr., marched for
civil rights. To be a MWA volunteer at the Takin'
in to the Streets event click here. For more information on the event, visit http://streets2010.com/ |
