Thoughts from Pat Baillie, Director of Training & Professional Development

Welcome to 2014! Have you made any resolutions for work this year? I hope that increasing your diversity awareness and becoming an expert in LGBT workplace equality is one of them! We will be continuing many of our top programs in 2014.  We will start off with our Virtual Summit which features some of the best workshop sessions from the 2013 Out & Equal Workplace Summit. Check the training calendar for the schedule of these webinars. Then of course, we will continue our monthly Town Call series and start the year off talking about the new CEI Criteria with Deena Fidas from HRC.
In February, we will kick off the 2014 Out & Equal Workplace Summit with information about the workshop and Outie Award processes and details on the 2014 Workplace Summit, taking place November 3-6 in San Francisco. Starting in March, we will begin our core webinars on LGBT Cultural Competency. All year long, we will be adding materials to our Learning Management System so there will be many new resources and opportunities to make your 2014 workplace equality goals a reality.

Thank you for all the work you have accomplished in 2013 and let's continue our work in 2014 to end discrimination in the workplace, not just through ENDA in the U.S., but by supporting LGBT and ally employees all over the world!

Trainers' Corner 

News for Out & Equal Certified Trainers

Just a reminder to send in your 4th quarter 2013 training reports. I just need the date, location and number of people you trained and if there were any evaluations or comments on the training. I am also planning on using the Trainer's Network as one of our test groups to move over to the LMS in the first half of the year. We will be able to still use Groupsite and the library but, I am hoping to make the group more interactive and provide more resources for all of you as trainers.  

We will talk about doing training analysis this month in the trainer's forum so you can produce that data that management is looking for when stretching those training budget dollars. Have a great New Year and hope your 2014 will be amazing!
