Monthly Insights
Thoughts from Pat Baillie, Director of Training & Professional Development

2014 is almost here! We have wrapped up the reviews of the 2013 Summit and Training Department goals and it has been a busy year. Just to share a few facts with everyone from the Out & Equal Workplace Summit:

  • We had 409 presenters in 124 training opportunities through Leadership Seminars, Workshops, Featured Panels and Global Series
  • 6,694 attendees made it to these sessions and we received 50.5% of the evaluations rating the programming at the Workplace Summit
  • Using a 1-5 scale, with 5 as high, the overall satisfactions with the workshop content was 4.4 and satisfaction with presenters was 4.52.
  • The comments and ratings will help us build our 2014 programming for Town Calls, online live training, Learning Management System (LMS) development and of course, the 2014 Out & Equal Annual Summit

Looking at programming from the rest of the year, the Monthly Town Call included 1,647 attendees for an average 176 per call and 182 took our online training courses. Classroom training reached 883 participants and consulting opportunities set an all-time record in 2013. Our LMS platform has launched and the first three modules should be ready to test out in late December.

We are planning on the Virtual Summit kicking off on Jan 14 and we will be hosting Town Calls and online training throughout the year. Summit planning will kick off on Feb 13 with a webinar and we will be converting our archived courses and Town Calls to the LMS.

We want to thank all of our 2013 training sponsors, including Johnson & Johnson, Sprint, Fannie Mae and Citizen's Bank. We also want to thank each of you who attended sessions, proposed programming and contributed to building the Out & Equal Training & Professional Development program. We hope you enjoy the end of year hustle and bustle and we look forward working with you to create more opportunities for LGBT workplace inclusion in 2014!

Sincerely,
Pat Baillie

Trainers' Corner
News for Out & Equal Certified Trainers

Happy December! If you did a workshop for the Summit, you should have received an email from me with your ratings and comments. I know the amount of work that goes into preparing training across the spectrum - from for the ERG to workshops at Summit - and I want to thank you for all your work as trainers in 2013.

It is the end of the year and I would like to ask all trainers to send in their 4th quarter training reports. Let me know if you conducted any training, including at the Workplace Summit, the date, how many attended and if there were any comments or feedback on your training. I should receive all of these reports by January 15.

This month's Trainer Forum will be on Tuesday, December 17 at 2pm Pacific and will review the year and our special topic presentation will be on the 2014 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) Report.  The report was just released and will be used to evaluate the workplace.  Join us and see what's new!

To learn more and to share your questions/insights, please join us for our next monthly Trainers' Forum Webinar on Tuesday, December 17, at 2:00pm (Pacific Time Zone). Contact Pat Baillie for more information.
