Bring your ideas to 3D life at the Burleson Public Library
Did you know that the Burleson Public Library has a 3D printer? Citizens have the opportunity to take their ideas and inventions and bring them to life! You have to create a blueprint of the object you want to print, or choose from thousands of creations that are openly shared by people from around the world to either print on demand or modify those designs to suit your needs.
The 3D project is created through layering. Plastic is the most common material used, and it is what the Burleson Public Library uses in its 3D printer. Everything from a cellphone case to a replacement knob for your kitchen mixer . . . if it can be made of plastic it can be printed. Projects can take from less than one hour to several hours to complete. The library's 3D printer is available at a cost of $0.10 per gram of plastic with a $1 minimum per print. If you're interested in trying your hand with this new cool technology call 817-426-9210 or stop by 248 S.W. Johnson Ave. The library is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday-Wednesday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Thursday-Saturday; and is closed on Sunday. Be sure to check out the library on Facebook.
