Police department earns ninth CALEA reaccreditation

They did it again. The Burleson Police Department achieved its ninth reaccreditation with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). CALEA Accreditation serves as the International Gold Standard for Public Safety Agencies. Burleson was the first police department in Texas to be accredited by CALEA in 1987. "Obviously, we are very proud of this accomplishment," Burleson Police Chief Billy Cordell said. "Retired Deputy Chief Cindy Aaron and Officer Jae Berg led the effort for our department and really deserve most of the credit." The accreditation program requires agencies to comply with standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services. Read More

Thank you for thinking of us!

It's always nice to be appreciated! The children from Burleson Church of Christ stopped by the Municipal Service Center August 4 to deliver care packages to the public works department's field employees. Kevin North, assistant director of public works, showed the students how staff controls the water pump stations, remotely, to ensure that we have safe drinking water for our residents. The students loved it when Andrew Jabben showed them how to operate the camera used to inspect the inside of sewer lines. And Mark Hert demonstrated how to operate the backhoe. Thank you, Burleson Church of Christ, for thinking of our employees who work in the field during these triple digit days! See the pictures!
