Get ready for mosquito season
It's OK to starve them . . . in fact, the City strongly recommends it and will work with you to make it happen. We are talking about mosquitoes. They love to feed on your family, friends and pets. But there is a way to starve them. Drain. Drain is the fourth D of the 4-Ds (DEET, dress, dawn/dusk, and drain), in combatting mosquitoes. Check for standing water around your home and business. The most common breeding grounds are buckets and garbage cans, ornamental ponds, wading pools, tree holes, gutters, tarps, toys, flower pots and saucers, water dishes for your pet, wheel barrows, rain barrels, bird baths, boats and tires. Are children boarding/deboarding a school bus? Don't pass it
No one passed a school bus. That's the news that the Burleson Police Department and Durham Transportation were hoping for March 26.Officers from the department's traffic unit rode the bus routes that included picking up students for Clinkscale, Mound and Hajek elementary schools as well as both high schools. On March 26, no drivers passed a school bus when children were getting on or getting off the bus. Bus drivers activate stop signs and red lights when children are getting on or getting off of the bus. Drivers, regardless of which direction you are approaching the school bus (and students are getting on or off the bus), must stop before reaching the school bus when the bus is operating a visual signal (stop signs or flashing red lights).
