Now that the children can make it to see Santa, the big guy from the North Pole is coming to town tomorrow, Dec. 14, for the City's 14th annual Breakfast with Santa! The event was postponed from Dec. 7 due to icy roads. The fun will take place 7 a.m.-11 a.m. at the BRiCk, 550 N.W. Summercrest Blvd. Saint Nick's elves will be up early flipping pancakes, cooking sausage, and making the orange juice  and coffee. The last seating for breakfast is 10:30 a.m. Santa will be in the BRiCk's Winter Wonderland until 11 a.m. to hear Christmas wishes. Bring your camera to take those memorable pictures with Santa. Children can also visit Santa's workshop to make their own holiday crafts. Advance Breakfast with Santa tickets are available at the BRiCk at $4 for children/$5 for adults. The BRiCk is open today, 5 a.m.-8 p.m. Tickets at the door Dec. 14 are $5 for children/ $7 for adults. Call the BRiCk at 817-426-9104 or 817-426-9106 for more information.

Ice storm changes plans for second annual Christmas at Russell Farm

Joey the Rein Donkey is sad to report that Christmas at Russell Farm, and pictures with him, will have to be scaled back this year due to the weather. The City-owned farm on CR 714 is still very wet and muddy from the recent ice storm. The Thursday and Friday hours, Dec. 12-13, were canceled. On Saturday, Dec. 14, visit the farm between noon and 6 p.m. Joey and his friends will not be available for pictures due to the muddy grounds, but, you can tour the Russell Boren House and check out the Christmas decorations. Members of the Eumathian Club have decorated the Christmas trees inside the farmhouse. To find out more about Russell Farm go to the  Russell Farm pages on the City website.

Christmas Craft Fair is tomorrow

The City's Christmas Craft Fair moved from Dec. 7 to Dec. 14, due to the icy weather last week. So, tomorrow make plans to be at the  Burleson Senior Activity Center, 216 S.W. Johnson Ave., between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Unique homemade crafts and gifts will be available for sale. Get your last minute shopping done early! Bring cash because most of the vendors do not accept checks or credit cards. For more information call the center at 817-295-6611.
