That was a hot Founders Day!
It was a humid 88 degrees on Oct. 12 but that didn't stop members of the Burleson Heritage Foundation, gunfighters and more from dressing in period costume to celebrate the founding of Burleson. Members of the Burleson Heritage Foundation did a walking parade from First Baptist Church down to Main Street. The gunfighters staged shows throughout the day. And vendors offered up a variety of goods to those who strolled up and down Ellison Street. The City's parks and recreation department and First Baptist Church kept everyone entertained with acts on two stages. And there was even a petting zoo, car show and motorcycle show. This is the City of Burleson's 21st annual Founders Day. The event is hosted by the City and the Burleson Heritage Foundation. Burleson was founded Oct. 10, 1881, and incorporated in 1912.
