Survey says you like what the City does

Survey says . . . you like what we are doing! In October 2012, a National Citizen Survey tailored to the City of Burleson by the National Research Center, Inc., was sent randomly to 1,200 Burleson households. The survey included more than a dozen categories. According to Burleson's 2012 National Citizen Survey, which was presented to city council Feb. 4, out of 23 key service areas respondents rated Burleson above the benchmark in 18 areas. The City is similar to the benchmark in four areas and below the benchmark in one service category. The survey asked how respondents would rate Burleson as a place to live. Ninety-five percent ranked Burleson as excellent or good. Respondents gave Burleson above national benchmark level grades for the overall quality of businesses and service establishments, shopping opportunities, and employment opportunities. And, respondents like the overall quality of new development and the overall appearance of Burleson. To see the news release, presentation to council, video of the presentation to council, the final report and all supporting documents, go to the 2012 National Citizen Survey page on the city website.

Do you need to set up water service?

Are you a new resident who needs to establish water service with the City? Stop by Burleson City Hall, 141 W. Renfro St., with a water service application, driver's license or state identification card, and a minimum deposit of $135 or a letter of credit that states that you had no late payments with a water, electric or gas utility in the last 12 months of service with them. City staff also must be able to verify that the person seeking to open an account with the City matches the name on the lease agreement or deed. If you are not able to come to city hall in person, you can fax or email a completed water service application with a notarized copy of your driver's license. You are responsible for calling to verify that all paperwork was received and set up a time for your service to be connected. You have to be inside your home at the time the water service is connected to ensure that no faucets have been left on to eliminate any water damage. For more information, go to the Utility Customer Service New Resident Information page on the City website, or call 817-426-9601.
