Personality profiles help pets that are surrendered to shelter get new homes
If you live inside the city limits and have a stray that wandered into your yard or a family pet you can no longer care for, the Burleson Animal Shelter can help. People who reside within the corporate city limits of Burleson may surrender animals to the shelter so the staff can take steps to get them appropriate care. If you choose to surrender a pet to the Burleson Animal Shelter you must fill out a personality profile of that pet to help shelter staff get the pet adopted. Those profiles are available online on the Animal Surrender page on the City website. People who live outside Burleson's corporate city limits and wish to surrender an animal need to take the animal to the shelter in their city. County residents may take their animals to the Humane Society of North Texas shelter in Fort Worth (817-332-4768), or Fort Worth Animal Care and Control (817-392-3737). |

Those most susceptible include seniors (those age 65 and older), children (especially those younger than 2), and people with chronic health conditions. |

Reap the rewards when you support the city's Wilshire Boulevard businesses
This is the month to start collecting those receipts! Starting in January, the Texas Department of Transportation will be making median improvements to State Highway 174 (Wilshire Boulevard), between I-35W and Elk Drive. During the construction process, the City of Burleson is encouraging everyone to keep visiting your favorite Wilshire businesses in the improvement area as part of the City's "Shop on Wilshire" Loyalty program. Collect five separate receipts from businesses in the improvement area, then deliver or mail the receipts to city hall prior to the third Monday of the month throughout the duration of the project. Those receipts will be placed in a drawing that will be conducted at the second Burleson City Council meeting each month. Prizes include items from local Wilshire businesses. For more, go to the Shop on Wilshire Loyalty page on the City website. |
