Climb the mountains
and get their good tidings.
Nature's peace will flow into you
 as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow
their own freshness into you
and the storms their energy,
while cares will
drop off like autumn leaves.
John Muir

"We really enjoy the appearance of the plate on our car and we think it lends a very nice symbol to the advertising of our Great State. Very, Very attractive to anyone that sees it and leaves an excellent impression on travelers both inside our state and outside. There is no other way to achieve this result regardless of the advertising that we might do. Our State is beautiful from any angle!!"

Note received from Plateholders L.Glenn Eubanks and Ann Eubanks.

If you stand still outside you can hear it...
Winter's footsteps,
the sound of falling leaves.

END-TO-ENDERS
How far did you travel to get to the Blue Ridge Parkway? Can you beat  Australia? Our newest group of End-To-Enders recently completed their end-to-end journey on the Parkway from South to North with 18 people on 14 motorcycles, 3 pillions and 1 back up car. Mick Rinaldo, group leader, says "We totally enjoyed the whole experience along the Parkway, so much so that we are planning a return visit in 2015 and hope to see more of this fantastic area."

Traveling the entire Parkway by motorcycle, car, bike, foot or other mode of transportation is a wonderful journey, one that draws people from all over America AND the world. The Foundation recognizes the accomplishment and camaraderie that comes from completing this journey. Have you traveled the Parkway from end to end? Click here to receive your End-To-Ender certificate today, and here to meet others who have made this trip on our End-To-Ender Facebook page.

Kids in Parks News

LINKING THE PIEDMONT TO THE PARKWAY

Our Kids in Parks program has been steadily expanding over the last few years, growing from 1 trail on the Parkway to more than 60 trails nation-wide. Through a grant from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation, the program is linking State Parks and city/county parks in the NC Piedmont with trails along the Parkway through the expansion of our TRACK Trail network.

Last week, Kids in Parks opened two new TRACK Trails in the Piedmont region: one at Farmington Nature Park near Winston-Salem and the other at Crowder's Mountain State Park near Charlotte. Over the next few months, Kids in Parks will be opening several more TRACK Trails throughout the Piedmont region. If you would like to receive our monthly Kids in Parks e-news for more information about the program and upcoming trail openings, email [email protected].
