Patrick Dunne, PMP, has joined Rightsize Facility Performance as director of project management, announced President and Founder Mason Awtry. He is the first new hire in what promises to be a very busy year of growth for the firm. Mr. Dunne will be responsible for
the overall technical and cost performance of the firm's large and complex design/furnish assignments. In addition, he will maintain partnerships with the company's network of premier vendors.
Itasca Bank & Trust Co. will host a luncheon to help raise funds for the Roselle American Legion Post 1084 Veterans Memorial which is being built to honor those who have served. The luncheon will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Medinah Country Club from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM. The luncheon's featured speaker will be Allen J. Lynch, a Vietnam Army Veteran and 1970 Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. The site for the Veterans Memorial will be in Depot Park along Irving Park Road and Park Street, a location owned by the village of Roselle. The centerpiece of the memorial is a "Battle Cross and Kneeling Soldier" bronze statue mounted on a pedestal memorializing all those who have given their lives in service of their country. The five military branch insignias will be mounted on the pedestal. Plans also call for a brick paver walkway and seven flagpoles with the American, POW, and military service flags. Inspired by the 2014 Winter Olympics, the Illinois Office of Tourism (IOT) showcased the state's brightest stars in the tourism industry with the second annual 'Lincoln Awards.' presented during a special program at the Excellence in Tourism Awards on February 3, part of the 2014 Governor's Conference on Travel & Tourism. Award recipients are those "behind the scenes stars" that go above and beyond for the Illinois tourism industry. Meet GOA's own Christina Anderson-Heller, Marketing Director of Lynfred Winery, was presented the Ski Jumping Gold Medal - awarded to an individual who isn't afraid to take risks to achieve new heights - by Illinois State Travel Director, Jen Hoelzle. Dave Parulo, President of Meet Chicago Northwest, also a GOA member said "We are very excited to have Christina's efforts to market our region recognized. We are honored to have her representing our vibrant Chicago Northwest region. Her passion and support for tourism could not be more valuable to our promoting our region." The award ceremony kicked off the 2014 Illinois Governor's Conference on Travel & Tourism that ran February 3-5, in Chicago at the Palmer House Hilton.
