Greetings!
Within the last week Fall has settled in, leaf blowing is a new outdoor exercise, our afternoon sunlight leaves us when we walk out of our offices, the smell of the first fires in our fireplaces fills the air, and we take just a little bit deeper breath while swirling wine in our glass.
We have some great food specials and wine events to enjoy this time of year beginning with our boutique Woodinville Woodhouse Wine Estate tasting this Friday from 5-7pm and our Holiday Sparkling Wine tasting on Nov 22 from 5-7 pm. This week we also have a great Pumpkin Cheesecake paired with Grgich Hills 2006 Late Harvest Violetta as a special dessert just perfect for this time of year.
Girl's Night Out is coming and we have teamed up Hawkins-Poe, Jewel Kade and Valholl Brewery for a real party. Food, wine, beer, jewelry shopping, and posing for photos with your BFF! Also a special prize in one of the Goodie Bags, a Sparkling Wine Tasting for 8. Get ready, it's coming on Thursday Nov 21 from Noon until close.

Woodinville Boutique Winery Woodhouse Wine Estates
Friday November 8 5-7pm
The Woodhouse Wine Estates is a boutique Woodinville winery passionate about crafting high quality, complex and age-worthy wines. They craft wines that are terroir-driven with luscious, complex fruit. We focus on balance and restraint, so the wines age very well. Varietally correct with old world sensibility, their wines are released a bit later than most so that they have an opportunity to rest, integrate and show their fullest flavor complexities.
Owners, and husband and wife team, Bijal and Sinead Shah, started Woodhouse Wine Estates with Bijal's uncle, Tom Campbell, in 2004. Joining a group of other winery greats in Woodinville, Woodhouse quickly drew attention with our beautifully crafted wines. Their flagship wine, Darighe, which means "red" in Gaelic, was so named after Sinead's Irish roots. Next, they introduced Dussek and Maghee, named after family friends. Finally they created Kennedy Shah and Hudson Shah, named after their daughter and son.

Girls Night Out

Morso is teaming up with two other businesses to host the best Girls Night Out party. Food, wine, beer, jewelry shopping, and posing for photos with your BFF! This annual event in the waterfront district is a great opportunity to spend time with your friends and support your local businesses. . 
Our Finholm neighbor, Hawkins-Poe, will have a photo booth here at Morso with all the accessories needed to provide a memorable souvenir of your time spent with great friends. To add to the fun, Mindy Ladd ONeill will also be hosting a Jewel Kade Jewelry show with 20% off purchases, and for those attending, a drawing for a fabulous Jewel Kade gift. Mindy will be here from Noon until 9pm! 
Have you got your goodie bag yet? We have added the Morso Chocolate Fortune Cookies into some bags this year. One of those fortunes has a Sparkling Wine Tasting for 8 inside it. So be sure and get in on the bag ordering and for sure get one with a Morso Fortune Cookie.

Antje Duvekot :: Americana Music Series

Antje Duvekot (AUNT-yuh DOO-va-kott), born 1976 in Heidelberg, Germany, is a singer-songwriter based Massachusetts and has been awarded three top songwriting accolades including the Kerrville New Folk Competition's Best New Folk Award, Boston Music Award for Outstanding Folk Act, and Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
Her latest CD "'New Siberia" is a special album to me because the songs are wiser," says songwriter Antje Duvekot. "They have an age to them that should resonate with anyone who's struggled through a difficult period and come out better.There's something really sweet in being able to look back on a journey like that, from a darker, younger self to a better, older place."
That might not seem like a startling statement from most songwriters. But Duvekot is not most songwriters. For years, her songs have been critically praised for their hard-won wisdom, dark-eyed realism, and street-smart romanticism. Fans will certainly find all of that in 'New Siberia.' But coursing up from beneath the dark, like flowers pushing through stone, is a mature sense of hope, growth, renewal, and love. She sees past the ghosts of a receding past to forge new trails of self-exploration, judging her journey not only by what's facing her, but by how far she's already traveled.
This CD was produced by folk legend Richard Shindell and the cinematic ensemble sound showcases Duvekot's bold, sure-footed path through emotional terrain most artists dare not even enter. "Musically, I think I am in the strongest place I've ever been," says Duvekot.
The theme is a triumph over a difficult past. After being separated from her brother and father at age 13, Antje found herself uprooted from her native Heidelberg, Germany, to Delaware, where her home further fractured, as she struggled to assimilate, lacking English language skills or the familiar cultural sign posts from her youth. But she is more optimistic today, having found love and become an esteemed headliner in the U.S. and overseas as more people discover the power of her intimate music. "What a blessing to have worked with someone as talented as Antje,'' says Shindell, her producer. "With a voice like hers and songs as good as these, a producer just tries to get out of the way, do no harm, and let the artist speak for herself.''

Cutting Through the Detail
A Solo Exhibition by Taylor Reed

Peninsula, has lived up and down the West Coast, from Alaska to Laguna Beach and is now making her home in Shelton as they search for their dream home on the Key Penisula. "It really started with photography for me, I fell in love with the viewfinder of the camera and the ability to create such perfect images within it. Quickly I began to see my photographic style translate into my paintings", describes Taylor. This exhibition displays both her photography and oil painting. Taylor's solo exhibition, "Cutting Through the Detail" is on display at Morso from October 25 - December 19, 2013.
Taylor said, "Over the years I have been torn between my two loves, photography and painting, but have come to a place where I can really enjoy both worlds letting them play back and forth off of each other." Taylor graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts having a focus on environmental paintings from Laguna College of Art and Design.
