WINTER MOUNTAIN

High School Students - Winter Mountain Retreat, always one of the highlights of the school year, is next week! Students and faculty will spend January 28-30 at Pine Summit Christian Camp in Big Bear, CA where they will have the opportunity to get away from everyday life, to develop stronger bonds with one another, and to encounter Jesus Christ in a different way. All Middle School & High School students are invited to attend one of ThoughtSTEM's programming camps this summer! No experience is required, and the camps will actually be held on Linfield's campus throughout the month of June. Click here for dates and additional information.

MS NIGHT CROSSING

Night Crossing

Friday, January 31, 2014 @ 7:30 p.m.

Night Crossing is one of Linfield's favorite MS traditions! It's a competitive game played under the cover of darkness all across Linfield's extensive property; the goal is for students to get from one end of the campus to the other without being caught by a teacher with a flashlight. BASKETBALL

Girls Basketball

The Varsity Girls will travel to Western Christian on Friday, January 24 for a 6:00 p.m. game. Then on Monday, January 27 they will host Aquinas at home for another 6:00 p.m. game.

Boys Basketball

The Varsity Boys team will travel to Western Christian on Friday, January 24 for a 7:30 game. Then on Monday, January 27 they will play at home against Aquinas at 7:30 p.m.

JV Boys Basketball will also travel to Western Christian on Friday, January 24 for a 4:30 p.m. game. Then on Monday, January 27 they will play at home against Aquinas at 4:30 p.m.

SOCCER

Girls Soccer

Varsity Girls Soccer will play at Western Christian on Friday, January 24 at 4:40 p.m. Then on Monday, January 27 they will play at home against Aquinas at 4:00 p.m.

Boys Soccer

Varsity Boys Soccer will also travel to Western Christian on Friday, January 24 for a game at 3:15 p.m. Then on Monday, January 27 they will play at home against Aquinas at 6:00 p.m. JV Soccer will play at home against Ontario Christian on Friday, January 24 at 4:00 p.m.

UPCOMING BAND & CHOIR PERFORMANCES

February 14, 2014 @ 11:30 a.m. - 10th Annual Elementary Band & Choir Performance @ Knotts Berry Farm: Students will perform on the Calico Stage (a different venue from last year) at this annual patriotic performance. Please come out and support our ES students; anyone can receive the group rate ($25 per person for children ages 3-11; $29 for ages 12+) by going to the group sales window and telling them that you are with the Linfield Band & Choir.

ES JUNIOR GOLF
January 10 - February 21, 2014 The next session of our after-school golf program, available for Jr. K - 5th grade students, began last week. Click here for more information.

ES SOUNDS OF SILENCE

Sounds of Silence is an after-school sign language program in which elementary students learn basic sign language skills, develop an awareness of deaf culture, and participate in a class performance. The 12 week sessions will meet on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:45-4:00 p.m. in Room 102, and the cost is $120. The Beginners session is for 2nd and 3rd graders and will be held on Mondays from January 27-May 12; registration and fees are due by January 24. The Advanced session is for 4th and 5th grade students and will be held on Tuesdays from February 11-May 6; registration and fees are due by February 3.

ES AFTER SCHOOL ART
January 23-March 4, 2014 The ES After-School Art program, available for Jr.K - 5th grade students, offers of a variety of classes that meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45-4:15 p.m. until March 4. DR. B'S THIS IS LIFE CLASS

Dr. Bridget Melson (Dr. B), Linfield's Behavioral Support Specialist and HS Bible teacher, is the author of a 12-session workbook entitled This is Life, a guide intended to equip teens with the tools they need to be confident and successful, and she will be offering a This is Life class after school on Tuesdays (9th-11th grade girls) and Wednesdays (7th-8th grade girls) in the coming months. JANUARY STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Congratulations to Will Campbell for being selected as the January 2014 High School Student of the Month! The Temecula Chamber of Commerce, city officials, and local sponsors support this event hosted by Sizzler Restaurant.
