Paschal PTA Board Nominations for 2016-17
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Paschal is just one opportunity for you to engage, and we are looking for new leadership now! The PTA Board has over 50 volunteer positions available. The slating process starts with an online self-nomination process - click here to see the form. A Nominating Committee then works through nominations to present a proposed slate of officers that will be voted on in a General Membership Meeting on April 28.
Past PTA experience is appreciated, but not required. We need all sorts to make a strong board: event planners, accountants, people who like to play in the dirt, some who are willing to make copies, computer gurus, and sales professionals. Are you particularly interested in the theater program? We have a job for that! Do you wish X, Y, or Z was stronger at PHS? Join us, and let's see what we can do!
If you have questions about PTA or about any of the positions available, please contact Sarah Tempel email@example.com
PASCHAL TRUMPET PLAYER
#1 IN STATE JAZZ BAND
Paschal High School Senior Gregory Newman was selected to the extremely competitive Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All State Jazz Ensemble I Band. Making an All State ensemble is the highest honor a student musician can receive in Texas. Newman placed 1st out of more than 300 trumpet players that auditioned from across the state.
Newman has played trumpet for 8 years. He is the first trumpet player from Paschal in many years to be selected to the State Jazz Band. Newman plays in Paschal's concert, marching and jazz bands, and serves as trumpet section leader. Last summer he traveled to Europe with Paschal's Jazz Ensemble to play at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
Paschal is Fort Worth's oldest and largest public high school. Their award-winning jazz band is under the direction of Mark DeHertogh.

Twenty one Paschal students were selected to the TMEA Region 7 Orchestra, including Hanwool Yun, Jack Henry, Jaqueline Lopez, Andrea Aguayo, Eileen Yu, Sean McDonough, Xavier Khan, Leticia Hernandez, Noah Ortega, Diana Lee, Allen Jamir, and Lydia Kim on violin; Jackeline Perez, Amanda Toledo, and Grace Yeo on viola, (with alternate Isaac Ko); Paul Ryu, Charlie Nesser, Dan Heo, and Joseph Yun on cello; and Jeff Tullis and Ethan Jones on bass.

Do you have a daughter who loves science and math?
Is she interested in exploring options in STEM careers? Design Connect Create is an immersive hands on experience for young women to explore and have fun with physics. Students form a deep understanding and build confidence to move forward in science knowing they will be successful. Labs, guest speakers, interactive problem solving and engineering challenges fill our day as we explore topics in physics and engineering. This physics camp is open to girls taking any AP Physics course for the first time next year. The FWISD site for the camp is Paschal High School from June 6 - 17. Check out their website

NORTHWEST STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM SEEKING HOST FAMILIES FOR 2016-17 SCHOOL YEAR
Foreign exchange students for the 2016-2017 school year are in need of kind and loving families here in Fort Worth. Would your family like to host a student who would attend Paschal High School? Exchange students come from all over the world - Switzerland, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, China, Japan and more! Host families like yours are needed to provide safe, loving homes to our students.
You would supply:
A bed (sharing a room with a same sex sibling is fine)
Three meals a day
Transportation to/from school and activities (sports, church, doctors)
Exchange students have insurance, speak English, have strong grades and bring their own money to cover their expenses. They arrive in August and stay until school concludes in June.
We encourage you to also involve your family, friends and neighbors to help take them places. Once the student arrives, they will make friends easily through clubs, sports and church. NWSE offers trips for them to participate in, if they would like to do so.
If you would like to host...check out the online application here
You will need to upload 5 photos with your application:
1. Front of house in daytime
4, Students bedroom (showing bed)
5. Students bathroom (showing toilet)
If you have extra room and would love to explore another culture, consider hosting an exchange student!
