The Tom Joyner Foundation Teacher Quality Initiative scholarship is a great opportunity for local students who want to pursue education as a career.

Selected students have to start at a TCC or Austin Community College, but then receive assistance at a 4-year institution. This is a great bridge program, and can really help the right students succeed!

Student use this online form to apply. It should only take 10-15 minutes to complete!

NOTE: the deadline for students starting next fall is October 15. The requirements listed on the website focus on current TCC students, but graduating seniors can also complete the application.

Underclassmen Yearbook Pictures
Yearbook pictures for all Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors will be taken by Glamourcraft on Tuesday, October 6th and Wednesday October 7th, during all English classes.  Make sure your student is dressed to impress.

Senior Portrait Pictures and Senior Ads
Parents of Seniors, your student MUST go to Glamourcraft at 7375 S. Hulen St., Fort Worth, TX 76133 by November 1st in order to have their picture appear on the portrait page(s) of the Yearbook. You do not have to purchase a picture package, but due to contractual obligations your student does need to get their picture taken there to show up on the portrait page; I believe there is a $5 "sitting" fee.
As a separate issue, if you choose to purchase and build your Senior ad at jostensyearbooks.com you need to do so by October 30th. Just go to the website, create a user account (user accounts are free) and follow the steps to create your ad.

Senior Day of Community Service

Note: We urgently need more adult chaperones for the Senior Day of Service on Wednesday, October 14 - most of the faculty are required to work with the SAT that day. If you can help or have questions, please directly contact Jennifer Andrews-Cox jennifer.andrewscox@fwisd.org. Background checks are required.

Paschal High School will be sponsoring the Second Annual Senior Day of Community Service on October 14, 2015.  Last year over 250 students participated and over 13 organizations received volunteers for a morning of community service work.  This year, we need funds for buses as well as chaperones to attend the event with the Seniors while the rest of school is participating in the PSAT.  If you are interested in chaperoning, please contact Jennifer Andrews-Cox at jennifer.andrewscox@fwisd.org and if you would like to donate towards the transportation cost you may do so bclicking here. You can also donate by dropping off a check to school (made out to PHS), in an envelope marked 'For Senior Day of Service, c/o ennifer Andrews-Cox'.
Faculty/Staff Restroom Makeover - Thank you!

PHS PTA would like to thank one of our Community Partners for the donation of materials and labor in the much-needed remodel of the PHS faculty/staff restroom over the summer. This was a collaboration with the FWISD, but it would not have been possible without the generous contribution of a PHS parent.

TCU Tickets

TCU is offering a great deal on tickets to selected soccer and volleyball games. (They have also promised us a football deal... soon.)

The tickets are $3 each for General Admission. There's a $1 charge that covers all tickets purchased. You do need to register one time only as a ticket customer. Be sure to follow the link and use the promo code BEPTA (like Be PTA!) to get the $3 tickets.
