Important SAT/PSAT Information

Attention Juniors

  • On February 26 you will have the opportunity to take a free SAT during the school day. More information will be coming but you could help with the process by going onto the College Board website and creating an account (if you have not already done so). If you try to create an account and you are told that you already have one it is probably because you were a DUKE TIP student.  You will need to call Collegeboard and get your password unless you remember it from the 7th grade.

Junior Academic Sweatshirts

  • Juniors if you qualified for a sweatshirt please remember the ceremony will be December 16. You will be receiving an invitation from FWISD.

9th and 10th Grade PSAT Results

  • Results will be returned during a parent meeting in January...more information as soon as it is available.
Junior PSAT Results
  • Results will be distributed during the school day as soon as they are available.

Yearbook picture makeup day is Thursday, November 21 from 8:15 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the large auditorium.

Seniors:  Don't forget to call Glamourcraft at 817-292-8989 to have your photo taken for the senior portrait section of the yearbook!  The deadline is Friday, December 6 and appointment times fill up fast, so call today!
Scholarship Award Letters

SENIORS please submit all scholarship award letters (rather accepted or not) to Counselor Mary Avelar. She needs this information for her report for the district.

8th Grade Round Up
Congratulations!

Andrew Brinker who applied for and GOT the Devon Energy Chair for Teaching Excellence in Secondary Science for the 2013-2014 school year!
Ian Connally who applied for and GOT the Radio Shack Chair for Teaching Excellence in Acquisition of Language for the 2013-2014 school year!

The Chairs for Teaching Excellence program was established in the FWISD in 1994. It is modeled after the university-level chair program and is designed to recognize and reward exemplary teachers. This program is unique because of its role in a public school setting and for its rigorous selection process.

Teachers may be nominated by parents, principals or colleagues but each nominee must complete a lengthy application and collect written recommendations. If selected for further consideration, the teacher will be interviewed and then must present a teaching demonstration to the selection committee. There are separate selection committees for each Chair.

Selectees will be honored at an awards luncheon on December 4, 2013, at the City Club. Teachers selected as Chairs are encouraged to pursue further education and training and share their knowledge and expertise with colleagues.

Many more teachers apply for this honor than are selected. Since its inception, generous sponsors have awarded more than $800,000 to teachers

For more information contact the Department of Community and Strategic Partnerships at 817-814-2960.

Get ready for the 2013 toy drive!

Paschal High School will be collecting toys December 6 - 11 to benefit needy children.

Toys will be given to the Marines' Toys for Tots program. Bring new and unwrapped toys to participating teachers and club sponsors.

The drive is being coordinated by JROTC, National Honor Society, and the President's Council.
