Science Club Placed 2nd in their Divisions at TEAMS

On Valentine's Day, 16 members of the Paschal Science Club traveled to UT Dallas for the TEAMS Competitions.

TEAMS is an annual competition that gives students an opportunity to discover engineering and how knowledge in engineering can help make a difference in the world.  Students work collaboratively to solve real-world engineering challenges, applying their math and science skills in practical, creative ways.

Both the upperclassmen and underclassmen teams placed second in their respective divisions. The places were decided by the multiple choice scores; the State rankings will include the essay portion of the contest and those results should be out in about a month.

The 4th annual Paschal Clay Shoot will be held at Alpine Shooting Range Sunday, March 24, at noon. Participation from every sport is our goal. Cost is $100 per shooter or put together a team of five for $500. This is one of the largest athletic booster fundraisers of the year and proceeds benefit all sports. Go here to print out the registration form or here to sign up online. Please contact Kristi or Blake Parker for more information at [email protected].

KUDOS to our Kids!

Paschal Art Department Wins Big at Region!! Art students took top awards at the Region Event held in Arlington recently. Students not only had to write about their work but they also had a one-on-one interview with a judge about their piece. Half of their score was the interview, the other half the artwork. We had 122 students that entered; 117 of them got perfect scores. 10% of the top scores are chosen for state. These nine students are advancing to state in April: Liliana Almanza, Anna Cook, Julianne Dewer and Gaby Rios (both for the second consecutive year), Noble Menchaca, Jennifer Tovar, Sixtine Rouyre, Victoria Bosaldu and Lily Yeargins

In Theatre, Annabeth Barbre won the Shakespeare Competition at PHS last week. She will be representing Paschal at the upcoming regional competition. Congratulations and good luck!
