Adult B'nai Mitzvah Lunch & Learn

Saturday, June 4 beginning at 10:30 AM
Rabbi Rosenwasser invites all Adult B'nai Mitzvah graduates and Limmudei Sinai students to the 3rd Annual Lunch and Learn session. We begin at 10:30 AM in the Bet Am with a spirited Kehillat Shabbat service. An engaging "Lunch and Learn" session follows at noon. Spouses and friends of the Adult B'nai Mitzvah graduates and Limmudei Sinai students are also encouraged to attend. This event is free, but we ask you to RSVP.

Washington Interfaith Network (WIN) leaders have been pushing for the Mayor and DC Council to come to a compromise on the bill to close DC General and open smaller, community-based short term family housing in each ward. Tomorrow in Ward 3 there is an important meeting where you thank your Council Member Mary Cheh for working to pass a bill to close DC General and urge your neighbors to welcome homeless families. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Geraldine Brooks will discuss her latest book, "The Secret Chord," in a conversation with Guy Raz, host and editorial director of NPR's "TED Radio Hour." In this acclaimed novel Brooks reconsiders the life and character of David, the shepherd boy who killed the giant Goliath with his slingshot and ultimately rose to become King of Israel.
