Blessing of the Animals

Bring your well mannered dog for some fun playtime with your fellow congregants and their pets on the lawn of the Carnegie Institution. Rabbi Adam will be on hand to offer snacks (human and pet friendly) and a blessing. We'll conclude the evening with a special Havdallah ceremony. Please note that the lawn is NOT fenced in. TSMRJ/TSWRJ Joint Opening Brunch: "The Global Refugee Crisis through the Jewish Lens"

Join us for our annual joint brunch of bagels, lox and all that goes with it. We are pleased to host a panel discussion with Mark Hetfield, President and CEO, HIAS; Joel Rubin, President, Washington Strategy Group and Adjunct Faculty,Carnegie Mellon University; and Ann Millin, Historian, U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Doors open at 9 AM, at 9:15 there will be a brief TSWRJ meeting to select members of the nominating committee. The program itself will run from 9:30-11:00 AM. RSVP now.
TSWRJ Providing Dinner for Children's Inn at NIH
Sunday, October 25
Temple members will provide dinner for families staying at the NIH Children's Inn, some of which can be prepared ahead of time - sign up for specific food assignments via SignUpGenius. You may also choose to help serve food at the Children's Inn.

Art Baskets for Children's Hospital and the Children's Inn at NIH Patients
Through October 31
Izzy Prill is collecting art supplies to put together art baskets for patients at Children's Hospital  and the Children's Inn at NIH. Please drop art supply donations (markers, glue, tape, coloring books, drawing pads, etc) in a bin located in the temple lobby through the month of October.

DCJCC Jewish Literary Festival

Walk for Life
Sunday, October 18 
Gift of Life helps children and adults suffering from leukemia, lymphoma, other cancers and genetic disorders find donors for blood and marrow transplants. The Walk is the only event in the Capital Region area that is solely dedicated to raising awareness for bone marrow and blood stem cell transplants.
