| Can You "Imagine" $289,000
in Sixty-Four Minutes?
On May 2 Gilda's Club Twin Cities held our third annual Imagine a Place
Breakfast and more than 600 people shared their morning with us. During the program, our co-founder, Carrie
Puterbaugh, asked those
in attendance to help raise $275,000 for the seed money to develop our first year of Gilda's Club cancer support programming.
We are excited to share with you the news that we surpassed our goal, raising more than $289,000 and the number is growing.

| Happy Spring Everyone
by Michelle Silverman, Executive Director
Well, I'm going to cut right to the chase-the Gilda's Club Twin Cities momentum just keeps growing! As the old walls of our clubhouse come down, we are preparing to put up beautiful new ones. We are getting ever closer to opening our red doors and delivering the important cancer support program our community needs.
We're right where we need to be. The demolition stage is completed and April 15 we started swinging hammers, installing walls, finishes, flooring and paint.
Throughout construction, we'll be conducting hard hat tours every Thursday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., so you can see where all the program activities will happen. If you're interested in taking a tour, call the Gilda's Club office at 612-227-2147 or:
Anne.Josten@GildasClubTwinCities.org.

| Laughter: It's a Family Affair
by Christine Clifford
Christine Clifford, President/CEO of The Cancer Club®
spoke at the recent Gilda's Club Twin Cities "Volunteer Appreciation Celebration". She shared her remarkable story of hope and discovery of the power of humor to overcome the challenges of cancer.
Three days after undergoing breast cancer surgery in December '94, I heard the doorbell ring downstairs
from my place of rest in my bedroom. "Mom!" screamed my second-grader Brooks, "More flowers for your breast!"
It was a turning point for me, his innocent statement which brought laughter to my already developing self-pity.

| "When I walk through the Red Doors"
Written by the Gilda's Club Twin Cities Volunteers | 2013 Volunteer Appreciation Celebration
When I walk through the red doors... I will see a new world. I will be extremely excited that we are finally OPEN and celebrate knowing this resource is FINALLY available -- I will be amazed.
When I walk through the red doors I will skip with happiness;
I will feel at home with my cancer family - warm and welcoming.
When I walk through the red doors there will be people who understand and won't judge.
Through the red doors, I enter into a place of solitude peace; finding gratitude for every day I get.

| Gilda's Great Volunteers $150K Challenge
It is our hope that all of our Gilda's Club Twin Cities Volunteers will come together to raise $150K to have the sponsorship rights of the clubhouse Red Door and Entry to Hope.
Many volunteers have devoted countless hours to ensure the clubhouse opens. The significance of this challenge is that the donations raised by volunteers will be for
the clubhouse Red Door and Entry to Hope a symbol of hope and caring for everyone
