Ceremonies, Circles and Community
Greetings!

Per the vision of Tata Pedro Cruz, we have been asked, and will oblige, to gather at least every 13 days for fire ceremonies and like-minded sacred circles. Below you'll read why and see the updated events for your planning purposes. Hope to see you here, or there, or where ever you're called!

When Tata was here, we were not aware of what was brewing in Guatemala; but just after he left, by October 5, the news feeds were jolting us even more upright.

Peaceful demonstrations of the Maya in the department of Kiche, Guatemala, were suppressed by their military dictatorship. Maya were hurt and killed as they protested increasing electricity rates, the school system and other issues.
Me and others are sharing this news regularly on the Mayan Cross Facebook page.
Our dear Kathy Shea shared this link today from the Guatemala Human Rights Commission

Not only this, but the elders are not happy that the government will not open Tikal National Park (Guatemala's crown jewel and Mayan sacred site) to the public nor to indigenous people on 12/21/2012. The word is that their event in Tikal will be an invitation only affair, more evidence of continued oppression of the Maya. (I do not have a link for this one yet but have seen tourist board memos to this affect from locals).

So here's my two centavos:
What we know of Mayan history demonstrates that, through millennia, human behavior has been affected by the energies reflected in their sophisticated calendars. Knowing this, why wouldn't the contemporary Maya use all of the attention that has been given to December 21, 2012, to influence their own circumstances?

They are in the spotlight, and on the threshold of establishing more credibility than has been acknowledged for thousands of years. This time, it is on the world stage. To many of us, they already have earned this respect.
And a head's up: those who are not experiencing shifts and do not feel the acceleration of time in their own bodies are the same ones who will blame the Maya for being wrong when the world does not end on Dec. 21.

Thanks for your attention and highest intentions on these matters related to the Maya. I hope to see you in ceremony and/or circle, soon.

Matiox with love, peace and blessings,

2012 The Beginning

The most watched film at 2012 Cannes film fest, this documentary serves up an array of colorful, knowledgeable information and insight about the Maya, especially their calendars, ceremonies and cosmo-vision.
Tata Pedro Cruz is featured, as are other select elders and Western researchers.

If you want to be accurately informed and entertained, this is the best Mayan calendar film to date.

This talk will have a little more than my two centavos, as I trace historical and current  events of the Maya with their calendric cycles. It all adds up to some startling revelations and appreciation for the Maya wisdom keepers.
