Spotlight: Dr. Martin Tadlock

Meet Dr. Martin Tadlock, who recently joined USF St. Petersburg as Regional Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs. Prior to joining USFSP, he served as provost and vice president for Academic and Student Affairs at Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College in northern Minnesota. Previously, he was assistant vice chancellor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and provost at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. 

While at Bemidji State, Tadlock engaged faculty and staff to create BSU's first master academic plan, co-chaired the university strategic plan, and secured new international partner universities as part of a university globalization initiative.


What is your favorite book? "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury.

What is your favorite destination in the world? Big Sur, Calif.

What is your favorite movie? "Dances with Wolves."

What was your least favorite subject in college? I have no least favorite ... I love to learn and found all of them fascinating.

If you could have any skill or talent, what would it be? The ability to play guitar.

What do you do to relax? I like to go biking or kayaking.

What is your favorite type of cuisine? Mexican.

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? My name is Tadlock, but I don't have a drop of Tadlock blood in me.

What USFSP project or activity are you currently working on that most excites you? Getting acquainted with the people here!

The reception will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Museum of Fine Arts Membership Garden, 255 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg.
