Program: Summer of Creativity Grants

Subject: Community Improvement, Capacity Building, Public, Society Benefit - Multipurpose and Other, Youth Development, Youth Programs

Eligibility: - Grant applicants must be between the ages of 5 - 18 and live in the United States. All applicants are required to have a sponsoring organization or school.    


Maximum Grant Amount:
$500.00
 

Deadline: August 10, 2015  

 

Description: Youth Service America, in partnership with ABC and Disney, is accepting applications for Summer of Creativity Grants to help youth make their community greener, safer, smarter, healthier, cleaner, or fairer. Winners receive funding to help make a lasting, positive change in the world.

The program supports young people who are creating lasting, positive change through volunteer and community service projects. They are especially interested in new, youth-led projects that highlight the creativity and commitment of young people working to meet the needs of others.

Women and Girls
 
 



Program: Grants for Women-Led Projects

Eligibility: Projects that are designed and implemented by women and girls that 

  • Reflect the diversity of the community served by the project in both its leadership and organization;
  • Promote building community power; and
  • Have limited financial access or have encountered obstacles in their search for funding.
Maximum Grant Amount: $2,000.00    

 

Deadline: August 15, 2015   
 
Description:

The Open Meadows Foundation is a grant-making organization seeking to fund projects that promote gender, racial, and/or economic justice.

Grants of up to $2,000 will be awarded for projects that are designed and implemented by women and girls; reflect the diversity of the community served by the project in both its leadership and organization; promote building community power; and have limited financial access or have encountered obstacles in their search for funding.  

 

Small and start-up organizations are strongly encouraged to apply. The projects must be led by and benefit women and girls, particularly those from vulnerable communities.

The foundation funds projects that do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender identity and expression, sexual identity and expression, age, or ability. In addition, annual organizational budgets should not exceed $150,000.

Housing, Veterans   

Program: Community Impact Grants Program


 
Subjects: Housing, Repairs, Veterans

  
Geographic Area: National

  

Eligibility: IRS-registered 501c designated organizations and tax-exempt public service agencies in the U.S. that are using the power of volunteers to improve the physical health of their community. priority will be placed on volunteer projects that fit the following criteria.
  • Projects that serve veterans and their families, whether that's repairing homes or improving facilities
  • Projects that involve veterans volunteering to help other veterans in the communities where they live

Maximum Grant Amount: $5,000 will be provided in the form of Home Depot gift cards for the purchase of tools, materials, or services.

 

Deadline: September 1, 2015  


Description:

The Home Depot Foundation is inviting applications from community groups to its Community Impact Grants Program, which supports a range of activities, including repairs, refurbishment, and modification of low-income and/or transitional veterans housing or community facilities; weatherizing and other projects designed to increase the energy efficiency of such facilities; and tree planting or community gardening activities involving veterans. Grants must support work completed by community volunteers in the U.S. and must specifically benefit veterans.
