Greetings!

For almost seven years now my daughter, Maggie, has worked with the Oglala Lakota Sioux community on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. As many of you know, I quit my job over a year ago to volunteer full-time to support Maggie's efforts. If you haven't already seen our 2.5 minute Call to Action (Video Below), then please check it out now.

Lakota Children's Enrichment (LCE) has shifted its main focus from disaster relief and filling emergency needs, to directly addressing root causes of the youth suicide epidemic, high drop-out rates (over 60%) and low self- esteem. Premier programs include our Annual Writing ChallengeYouth Summits, and Youth Advisory Board. Although we are building positive momentum, our programs can only succeed with the generous support of people like you, who are willing to invest in the rising generation of Native youth.

On September 13th, Lakota Children's Enrichment will hold its Inaugural Fundraiser at Westerleigh, the stone mansion of Steven and Diana Steinman in Greenwich, Connecticut. Featured guests and members of our host committee include Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Jody Williams and CEO of Steiner Sports Brandon Steiner.

All costs of the event have been underwritten by a generous donor to ensure that 100% of ticket sales and donations will go directly to LCE, and are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

I hope you will mark your calendar, purchase a ticket, become a sponsor, join the host committee and encourage businesses you know to buy a journal advertisement.

Space is limited, and we are offering you the opportunity to purchase a ticket NOW, to ensure your spot at the event!

If you are unable to attend, then please consider supporting our campaign by making a donation, contributing an item to the auction, or placing an advertisement or a congratulatory message our Journal.

I hope to see you on September 13th.

Peace,

Cindy Dunne
