PDMA Announces New Community Benefit: Book Review Archive
With the all the product development books that are published each year, we know it’s hard to determine which are applicable and are worth the trip to the store (or the search through Amazon). To help arm you with the most knowledge, PDMA has pulled 10 years of book reviews, previously published in our Journal of Product Innovation Management, and aggregated them in one easy location on the PDMA website.
Current reviews will continue to be posted to the page and past years’ reviews can be searched for by book title or author. Best of all, you can comment on each book review to let the community know what you think.

Inside Q3 2013 Visions Magazine
The Q3 issue of Visions hit email inboxes last month. The issue includes a feature titled"Hijacked again! Three Trends in the Field of VoC—Some Welcome, Some Not" by Gerry Katz, NPDP. See an excerpt below:
"In 2006, I published an article in Visions entitled, 'Hijacking the Voice of the Customer,' in which I condemned the misuse of the term Voice of the Customer (VoC) and those who were unfairly criticizing its effectiveness. The way they talked about it felt like a hijacking—forcing it to a destination where it was never intended to go. Well, it’s still happening, although today, it’s not all bad. In fact, some of it is actually welcome.
I observe three major trends going on in the field of VoC, each with a group of staunch advocates leading the way. I’ve dubbed them:
- The naysayers;
- The stretchers; and
- The technovangelists."
